The progressive Democrat Fetterman, 53, enjoyed a healthy lead against his opponent until his own health took a turn for the worst when he suffered a stroke a few months ago. Pouncing on his inability to effectively run the state due to ill health, Oz, repeatedly demanded public debates as a way to prove his opponent’s lack of stamina, both politically and physically. He even suggested Mr Fetterman would not be ill if he “had ever eaten a vegetable in his life”.
For his part, Fetterman’s campaign has used social media to ‘troll’ the former celebrity, multi millionaire heart surgeon by pointing out his lack of connection to Pennsylvania, calling him a ‘carpetbagger.’ A snake oil salesman and quack, and even going as far as to accuse him of being a puppy killer by pointing to an article that claimed Oz supervised experiments that resulted in the death of 329 dogs.
