6. Pence Was Key To The Plot

After suffering the defeat to Biden, the outgoing President Trump’s only hope to cling to power was for his vice president, Mike Pence, to reject the election results in certain states. Thankfully for democracy, Pence refused to take part in this illegal plan, one pushed by Trump’s attorney John Eastman.

Unsurprisingly, Trump immediately turned on his vice-president, essentially calling out Pence as a coward unwilling to do his duty to stop this so-called fraudulent election. The reason we know the details of the plan primarily being pushed by both Rudi Giuliani and John Eastman is from the testimony provided by former Pence attorney Greg Jacob. Jacob described the pressure campaign that was being put on Pence and that it continued way after the events of the January 6 riot.
