Republican pundits insist that the House Select Committee is either a circus or another witch hunt and claim that no one is watching. What we do know from Trump’s furious reaction to things like Bill Barr’s testimony, is that the former President is most definitely watching. And it is not looking good for him.
Although some loyal supporters still remain by his side, the damning testimony about life in the Trump White House is turning many against him. And with Trump tentatively suggesting he might run again for President in 2024, these revelations could seriously wound Trump’s political future.
With networks like Fox seemingly starting to distance themselves from Trump and conservative publications like the Washington Examiner writing in an editorial that ‘Trump is a disgrace,’ and, ‘Republicans have far better options to lead the party in 2024. No one should think otherwise, much less support him, ever again.’ These hearings could actually mark the end of Trump on the political stage.
