2. Trump Wanted To March On The Capitol Himself

Journalists, pundits, and interested onlookers were thrown a curveball last week when the committee announced a surprise last minute witness. Although her name was leaked at the eleventh hour, the testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, left many with their jaws firmly on the ground.

She testified that Trump wanted to go to the Capitol himself but was stopped, for security reasons, by the Secret Service, and unsurprisingly, the former commander in chief did NOT take the news well. Although largely based on hearsay from former aides and a White House valet, Hutchinson claims that when he was told he could not go to the Capitol he screamed “I’m the f***ing President, take me up to the Capitol now!” and lunged forward to apparently grab the steering wheel and may also have tried to assault the agent delivering the news he didn’t want to hear.
