4. Attempting To Overturn Georgia Results
Trump’s usual tactic of denying and deflecting will not work in this instance as every man and his dog has heard that infamous phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger where he pushed the Republican to “find” votes to overturn the election results. Thankfully Mr. Raffensperger held his ground and decided the Constitution was more important than kowtowing.
That call was enough to make District Attorney Fani Willis start a special grand jury investigating what role Mr. Trump and his acolytes played in trying to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory in Georgia. Former New York City Mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani have already appeared before the grand jury and despite his efforts to avoid testifying, Sen. Lindsey Graham will be doing the same.
We will have to see what the outcome will be for Trump, but it is likely to be soon as Willis had pledged to wait until after the midterms to make announcements about possible charges.
