The upper echelons of Russian political society may still back Putin’s agenda publicly, but a few cracks are starting to show as with the chairman of the national oil company Lukoil, Ravil Maganov, releasing a statement calling for the war in Ukraine to swiftly end. The only thing that ended was Maganov’s life as after he was admitted to the Moscow Central Clinical Hospital for a suspected heart attack, he swiftly ‘fell’ from a sixth-floor window.

Where does this all leave the world? Panicking about an imminent nuclear strike? A sudden turnaround for the embattled Russian military in Ukraine?
