The long history of the Nobel Prize dates all the way back to 1895 when the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel decided to write his will. Nobel put aside the biggest part of his fortune to fund an annual innovative award of five prizes for those who would give the greatest benefit to mankind.
