These Are the Republican Candidates for the Presidential Election:

For now, the front-runner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination is the one and only Donald Trump. However, he might not be the most likely nominee anymore as there are other candidates that are expected to do way better than him. We’ve been doing our quarterly rankings of the Republicans that are most likely to win the party’s nominee in 2024.

So far, No. 1 was easy to guess. Trump still has extensive loyalty in the GOP, as can be seen in the historically large primary defeat for Republican Liz Cheney. However, it’s worth mentioning that being the Republican’s first choice and a certain sense of loyalty isn’t the same thing.

For the first time, the odds are rather inclining towards Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The reasons for this might be different from what you would expect. Truth is, the search of Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago had a great effect, but what the exact political impact of the event is, we still don’t know yet. There seem to be some clues that this development had the opposite effect of what anyone expected, and that is that it might have rallied the GOP to Trump, at least for the moment.

Trump has perpetuated for a very long time a certain sense of persecution, which has proved to be an invaluable political commodity. Unfortunately, he also got a ton of grist for that mill, whether it was the truth or not. However, it’s worth mentioning that the political impact of the Mar-a-Lago event can’t be measured now.

We will start to see the results in the long haul. Plus, the legal jeopardy Trump faces might as well reinforce some of the main reasons why DeSantis seemed to have gained on him in recent surveys.

To be more specific, we’re talking about Trump’s constant uncertain electability and the political baggage he seems to carry along with him. All these factors seem to have a great influence on Trump’s stranglehold on the Republican Party, long before the Mar-a-Lago research.

In fact, there are two states, Michigan and New Hampshire, with polls that show how Trump and DeSantis are running neck and neck. It’s not hard to notice that Republicans are starting to see DeSantis as a more serious version of Trump, as he seems to have a more palpable potential.

However, we can’t help but wonder what chances all the other candidates have, so let’s see a list of other potential Republican candidates:
