Ohio

25. Marcy Kaptur

Kaptur, who was first elected in 1982 and is currently the longest-serving woman in House history, won an astonishing 21st term to the House from Ohio after defeating the controversial J.R. Majewski who claimed to be a combat veteran, but the Air Force has no record of it.

When she is sworn in next year to represent the state’s 9th Congressional District she will break the record set by Barbara Mikulski, who represented Maryland in the House and Senate for a combined 40 years, making her become the longest-serving woman in Congress.

Oklahoma

26. Markwayne Mullin

Being a former professional mixed martial arts fighter should be a claim to fame on its own but Mullin, serving as the U.S. representative for Oklahoma’s 2nd congressional district since 2013, has not got an even better claim to fame as he coasted to election victory to become the first Native American senator from Oklahoma in almost 100 years.
