He didn’t extend parental leave for parents
Canada isn’t a great place to have kids, because parents have a short amount of paid time to spend with them. While Trudeau promised to extend parental leave to 18 months, he did not deliver. Not to mention that, according to a critic, the Liberal Government’s 18-month parental leave isn’t good for some women.
The underlying problem here is that Canada has dragged this matter on for too long, and it should prioritize putting adequate childcare facilities in a place that’s available for all women who might need it. I mean, let’s be honest, the lower the income, the more serious the need becomes!
