Thanks to him, a debt-free Canada is now impossible. While Trudeau promised a lot of things when it comes to budgeting and debt, he only managed to increase the annual deficit. Yes, it’s great to spend money on Canadians, but that’s still not what you promised.
In 2020, the federal government deficit reached $354.2 billion, and a big part of this number was due to the Covid-19 supports that were necessary to keep everyone whole during lockdowns. But in the past 4 years, Canada’s federal government debt has more than doubled, reaching $1.4 trillion! So we can safely assume that there is nothing prudent about his plans.
