Bill Clinton

Former President Bill Clinton is much more appreciated than his wife, Hillary Clinton, at least in this poll of popular politicians. He landed as No. 7 in the ranking, mostly because 40% of survey respondents had a very favorable opinion of him. However, 38% had a rather unfavorable opinion of the former president.

George W. Bush

George W. Bush is also the former president of the United States. He was elected right after Clinton, and apparently, he takes his predecessor in the ratings, as he has a lower percentage of negative opinions. Even if 40% of people had a very favorable view of Bush, 31% view him in an unfavorable way. Another interesting fact is that Bush seems to be more popular with women.

Joe Biden

The current Democratic President of the United States, Joe Biden, is the fifth most popular politician in America right now, according to YouGov. Biden served as a vice president in the Obama administration and was also a U.S. senator from Delaware before being a vice president. He’s extremely beloved among baby boomers, and a bit more popular among women.

Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders was intensely backed by his loyal fanbase when he participated as a candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. He ran a very progressive platform that concentrated on canceling student debt and extending Medicare coverage to everybody. Sanders is extremely popular among younger adults. Even if 45% of all YouGov survey respondents had a very positive opinion of Sanders, the number is even higher among millennials, reaching 53%.

Arnold Schwarzeneggerr

It’s been 12 years since Arnold Schwarzenegger was the governor of California, but he still is one of the most popular politicians out there. The Austrian native is the former Mr. Olympia and bodybuilding champion, but he also had a very successful movie career before running for the office. In other words, he did everything. Almost 60% of men and 55% of all survey respondents had a very positive opinion of Schwarzenegger. Respondents oftentimes described him as being extremely charismatic, entertaining, and masculine.

Barack Obama

Former President Barack Obama is the second most popular politician in America, according to YouGov. He’s seen by 55% of all survey respondents in a very bright way, out of which 61% are millennials. However, it seems that not everyone is a fan, as 33% of all respondents hold a very negative opinion of the former president. Before being elected as the first African-American president, Obama was a U.S. senator from Illinois.

Jimmy Carter

At the time, Jimmy Carter wasn’t popular enough to win a second term. However, the 39th president of the United States has a ton of fans now. Well known for his humility and honesty, Carter, at 97 years old, is the oldest former president the nation ever had. Ever since he left the office, he won a Nobel Peace Prize and helped build thousands of homes alongside Habitat for Humanity. Also, he liked teaching Sunday School in his church. So it’s very understandable why 55% of survey respondents had such a favorable opinion of Carter, and why only 16% see him in a negative light.
