4. Rep. Don Bacon (R – NE) – Air Force

Don Bacon (Republican Party) is a member of the U.S. House, signifying Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District. Born on August 16, 1963, raised and worked on a farm in Illinois. He assumed office on January 3, 2017. His current term ends on January 3, 2023.

Don Bacon moved out from the family farm to attend Northern Illinois University, from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Political Science in the year 1984. By 1985, he commenced his career in the military by joining the U.S. Air Force and serving for almost 30 years, eventually retiring as a Brigadier General.

After Don Bacon’s retirement from the Air Force in 2014, he served as the military advisor to Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (NE-01), where he specialized in military affairs concentrating on Offutt Air Force Base and the Nebraska National Guard.

He also served as an Assistant Professor at Bellevue University where he taught Undergraduate Leadership. In the 2016 election to Congress, he represented Nebraska’s Second Congressional District.

In the current 115th Congress, Don serves on the House Committee on Agriculture, House Committee on Armed Services, and the House Committee on Small Business.
