- Sandy Hook Elementary School, December 14, 2012Â – Back in 2012, twenty students and six professors were killed in a mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The student casualty was between the ages of 6 and 7.
- Killeen, Texas, October 16, 1991Â – George Hennard drove a pickup truck through the glass front window of a restaurant called Luby’s in Killeen, Texas. He then started shooting patrons and staff inside, killing 23 people and injuring the other 27 others before fatally shooting himself.
- San Ysidro, California, July 18, 1984Â – In 1984, James Huberty, 41 years old, shot 36 people at a McDonald’s restaurant in the San Ysidro district of San Diego. Unfortunately, the casualties included an 8-month-old baby and a 9-year-old girl, and the wounded included a 4-month-old girl. It all ended when Huberty was shot by a San Diego SWAT Team sniper. The event changed a lot the police’s policy of dealing with mass-shooter scenarios.
- Parkland, Florida, February 14, 2018Â – A former student and a gunman named Nikolas Cruz, who was 19 years old, shot and killed 17 people and injured another 17. He was armed with an AR-15. Among those who were deadly injured, there were also students and adults. Cruz was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder.
- El Paso, August 3, 2019Â – The police charged 21-year-old Patrick Crusius with capital murder as he was found guilty in the shooting that took place at Walmart in El Paso, Texas, on August 3, 2019. Over 22 people were killed and another 24 were badly injured. According to the Police, Crusius, who lived at the time 650 miles away from the Walmart, posted a very racist and anti-immigrant manifesto. It appeared 20 minutes before the attacks, and started talking about a “Hispanic invasion of Texas”. The event is being treated as a domestic terrorism attack and the prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty.
