2. Climate change
Another major issue facing 21st century America is the issue of climate change as scientists have long been ringing the alarm bells about the accelerating pace of global warming. The Biden administration has made the reduction of carbon emissions a priority, but the Supreme Court may throw a spanner in the works as they are currently deciding a case concerning the EPA’s authority to regulate carbon emissions from existing power plants.
Although no decision has been made yet and the Biden administration’s EPA is currently working on a new rule, many critics believe that the Supreme Court is leaning towards limiting the scope of the EPA’s authority even before a new rule is on the books.
