Ukraine has everything to gain by propagating such stories as it boosts morale and stokes more fires about Putin getting his comeuppance for the unprovoked invasion of their country. As many of us would like to see the end of Putin’s reign and bring some justice for the 4,169 civilian deaths, 268 of them being children, according to The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) as of June 1, 2022.
These sorts of stories say a lot about the media as well. In a world of clicks and likes, it is in their best interests to promote a sensational story to get eyes on their product, regardless of the fact that there is little to no evidence to back this story up. But whether it’s stories about antler blood baths or everyone and their dog doing their own pop psychology analysis of his mannerisms and posture, the truth will ultimately elude us for now.
One thing is for sure, if Putin does keel over some time in the not too distant future, there will be a lot of happy Ukrainians, as well as a large portion of the world population collectively wiping the fear of nuclear war sweat from their brows.
