#2 Tuna
Do you know who the most knowledgeable people when it comes to canned goods are? Unfortunately, if you did not think about a doomsday prepper you would be wrong. And we are not discrediting the people who are making the cans, developed the recipes and all that, but if anyone knows which foods will last a lifetime in a pantry, even in the end of the world conditions, it’s them.
This leads us to ask, why is tuna the preferred canned good of these paranoid people? Survivalists explain that it is due to the fact that tuna, in particular, is a meat product that is very shelf-stable, low in fat, doesn’t contain that much salt, and which can bring about a high protein intake.
It makes for a very nutritious meal in a hurry, even when we are not talking about any disastrous scenarios, and it would be great to keep a few cans on hand in the pantry. Tuna cans have the added bonus that they are not that expensive, and you can find them in different types: from being stored in sunflower or olive oil to being kept in different types of sauces, you can find a wide variety of this particular canned food.
