Ron Johnson
The senior United States Senator from Wisconsin has long been a staunch supporter of Donald Trump and as chairman of the Senate homeland security committee he launched several investigations into Trump’s political opponents, including the current president, Joe Biden.
He also claimed that he had an informant with information that the FBI and Department of Justice had conspired against Trump in the 2016 presidential election, although no evidence was ever put forward to back up this claim.
When the 2020 election came and went with a comprehensive Trump defeat, Johnson agreed with several of Trump’s false claims of widespread electoral fraud making unsubstantiated claims of “voter fraud that the mainstream media and, unfortunately, many officials just simply ignore.”
He would then go on to claim that the Democrats had “gamed the system,” in other words, they had rigged the election in Wisconsin to favor Biden, another claim that Johnson couldn’t provide a shred of evidence for.
