Mary Trump Says Her Uncle (Donald Trump) Might Run Again in 2024 Just for Money

Donald Trump’s losing battle for re-election is mostly seen as the political failure of the decade (maybe excepting his presidency). Although he faced two impeachment trials and critics from half of the country’s population, though, the former president did win something: money.

A lot of it.

The entire charade following the November 3rd Election Day regarding the alleged ‘voting fraud’ has convinced millions of Trump supporters to donate for the cause. What many of them didn’t know was that a considerable part of the money was actually invested in Trump’s personal affairs rather than the trials against voting fraud they were advertising.

And even though many of us were relieved to see Donald Trump leaving the political world, his niece Mary Trump predicts that her uncle might pretend to run for the office again in 2024 only to get more cash into his pocket.

A businessman from start to finish

If one thing is clear, is that Donald Trump has always been making decisions to his own interest. Now, imagining that he would launch a bid for the 2024 president elections just to raise some extra money doesn’t even seem that far from turning into reality.

During a recent interview with MSNBC’s host Mehdi Hasan, Mary Trump (the ex-president’s niece) explained that it’s very unlikely that her uncle will actually run for president again. However, he may claim that he’s going to run and use it as an excuse to launch a bid.

Here’s her full statement:

“I think he will pretend to for sure. Think about how much money he made in the last few months. He made more since Biden won the election than he has in his entire life. I don’t think he will let that go so soon. But you’re right, there is no way he will put himself in the position of losing again. But the Republican Party seems determined to continue to keep him relevant.”

What about the new party?

One of the most debated rumors about Donald Trump since he left the White House are regarding his intention of starting a new political party. Shortly after Biden’s inaugural, a few anonymous associates confirmed that the former president has been discussing the possibility of creating an independent party that would be called the ‘Patriot Party.’

Although he remained silent for a while, Donald Trump finally denied the rumors during last weekend’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC):

“We will win. We will not be starting new parties. We have the Republican Party. I am not starting a new party. That was fake news.”

A party ‘at war with itself’

Donald Trump may vow to remain a Republican forever, but he’s definitely not as welcomed as he was four years ago. In fact, he managed to achieve the unimaginable act of tearing one of the two primary parties apart.

Now, the Republican party is divided between Trump supporters and those who have been long fighting against the former president. Shockingly enough, many Trump supporters participating at the CPAC admitted that he should be held accountable for the Capitol Hill riot yet they still endorse the former president at some level.

However, as the time passes the rivalry inside the Republican party will likely diminish and things will get back to normal. As for the other damage caused by Trump’s poor political decisions such as the vaccination process or climate change, it will probably take years until our country returns to a progressive pattern.

And even though Trump might not literally run for the 2024 presidential elections, he’d still be a top favorite for the Republican Presidential Primary of the same year – at least for now.
