Like a recurring nightmare you just cannot seem to wake from, the horror of a mass shooting in our schools has once again torn into the American psyche, well, at least for most of us. As the events of the shooting at Robb Elementary School in the city of Uvalde unfold, the current death toll as of writing this article is nineteen young children and two adults, with those children being aged 7 to 10 years old.
If that were not harrowing enough, recent reporting has confirmed that parents of the children are being swabbed in a heartbreaking attempt to identify the dead as the tiny bodies of their children were so mauled and eviscerated by the bullets from a military grade assault rifle, one the shooter who I refuse to name here got on his 18th birthday, that they have to be identified by DNA.
Just let that sink in for a moment…..
