The Exact Timeline of Events in the Lewinsky-Clinton Scandal:
In June 1995, Monica Lewinsky moved to Washington, D.C. Back then, she was just a 21-year-old recent college graduate, who managed to get an unpaid internship in the office of President Bill Clinton’s Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, through a family connection.
Nothing strange until now. However, as the nation understood much later, things happened quite fast from that point, as 1995 was the year when she began a relationship with no one else than the President, that would last for two years, and eventually would lead to an epoch-shaping scandal.
The relationship between the two eventually came to light 24 years ago. As you can imagine, even after 24 years, the scandal keeps on serving as a strong reference point for our politics, from her tweets, such as “blaming the intern is so 1990s”, to former President Trump’s addition of Clinton impeachment lawyer Emmet Flood to his own legal team.
