Even after a year or so, there are still many unanswered questions about the events that took place on January 6, 2021, when a mob of supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump attacked the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. And while all American, democracy loving citizens should welcome the formation of the January 6 committee to investigate the events of that day, there are still some troubling questions.
Despite over 800 people already been charged with a range of crimes: seditious conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, conspiracy to prevent an officer from discharging official duties, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly or disruptive conduct, and others, the involvement of those at the top, including the former president, has yet to be fully revealed.
So here we are going to take a look at the uncertainties and perplexities that still surround that terrible day, and ask? Why do we still not have answers to these troubling questions?
