Rosalynn Carter
Jimmy Carter used to refer to his wife as “the equal extension” of himself.
Rosalynn Carter took her role as the first lady very seriously while her husband was the President of the United States from 1977 to 1981, which made many Americans admire her hard work.
She was an inspiring advocate for the cause of mental health.
Also, she pushed very hard to support the Equal Rights Amendment and was a great supporter of the arts. Just like her husband, Rosalynn was noticed for her practical mentality and her egalitarian attitude.
Her chief of staff earned the same amount of money as the president’s chief of staff.

Its interesting to note, all of these ladies were married to Democrats… how about Melania Trump, who was an advocate for cyberbulling?
Or Barbara Bush, who pushed for literacy, help for the homeless, AIDS victims, the elderly?
Nancy Reagan- advocate for the “Just Say No” initiative….
President Obama was ONE of the BEST & his First Lady too!! I want them BACK.
my all time favorite is Melania Trump
Historically for all she did and for the support, guidance, and advice she gave her husband. Along with all her duties, responsibilities and all of this during what is considered the most traumatic time for this country and longest time of doing it as first lady and continuing all the civic duties, functions and responsibilities
in serving the American people after his death. Eleanor Roosevelt is by far the most important and impactful if not the greatest first lady of all time and probably forever.
Michelle O’Bama
The very best and classiest First Lady is hands down, Melania Trump and 2nd would be Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. After them, the rest are all about the same.
You completely left out Melania Trump, who has been the classiest First Lady – perhaps ever. She carries herself so well, always looks impeccable in whatever she wears, has classy taste not only in her attire, but in the ways she decorated the White House & hosted the many White House functions. Michelle Obama couldn’t touch her with a 10 ft pole! Melania is probably the only First Lady who spoke fluently so many other languages & was completely comfortable in other nations as well as America. Shame on you for overlooking this beautiful lady!
No Melania Trump????…. Who da thunk it?!
You left out the best first Lady Mrs Trump. You must be a far left anti Milania Trump. She was as polite, kind, and beautiful first Lady.
Eleanor Roosevelt, Michelle Obama, Jackie Kennedy, in that order, and all three were examples of what a 1st lady should be.
Jackline Kennedy and Meliana Trump were my favorites. That racist bitch obama was ashamed of the US!!!
Where is Melania Trump in this list? I am sure most Conservative women loved her as I did. She brought classy back reminded me Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Michell Obamba, really???? She looked like she always had on dresses from Walmart, she’s racist and a super bitch. I see Melania Trump was not there. SHE was the BEST, so was he.
You left out Milania Trump. Much more elegant than Michele Obama.
