I think Putin has to sound off like this because his fan base there in Russia is fading fast. Ivan has been getting his arse kicked there in the Ukraine and his weapons systems are proving to be inferior to the West. Nothing he says would surprise me at this point. Neither any of the rash actions he may be comtemplating would surprise me either.
