Fact No.1

There’s an enormous contrast between Trump’s home and the interiors of the White House. The controversial Towers owned by Trump have 3 floors and there’s marble and 24k gold everywhere.

There’s a Central Park view, and the penthouse is designed by Angelo Donghia in Louis XIV Style to recreate the extravagance of the Palace of Versailles. The building bathes in rococo-styled gold-trimmed furniture, marble floors, columns, tables, and walls.

Most ceilings are frescoed, there are many bronze statues, but also crystal chandeliers. Oh, and there’s also a golden seat toilet. Trump preferred having a gold seat toilet rather than a Van Gogh painting. What can I say? Typical.

Fact No.2

While Trump claimed that the penthouse is 33,000 square feet, numerous city records showed that it is actually only 10,996 square feet.

Fact No.3

Trump has many getaways, such as a massive mansion in New York Bedford. The 40,000-square feet mansion is placed right in the middle of a lush forest and boasts 3 swimming pools and 60 rooms. It also has 15 bedrooms, 4 more than the White House.

Fact No.4

The 1919 Georgian mansion with impressive stone façade and pitched roofs are less ornate than Trump’s New York City buildings. Even more, it actually has tasteful furniture and interiors that, although rich, it’s not too ostentatious.

Fact No.5

Trump’s immense mansion in Florida was built all the way back in 1927, by cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post. The building was meant to become one day a future retreat for U.S. Presidents. It is a 20-acre estate that was meant to be given to the U.S. government after her death, but it was rapidly returned because its maintenance costs were too high.

Later, it was purchased by Trump, who used to call it his “Winter White House”. I bet Marjorie never imagine that her building would end up in Trump’s hands!

Fact No.6

This mansion in Palm Beach has 128 rooms, and it is two times the size of the White House. Also, there are 5 times as many bedrooms, but some parts are somehow given to exclusive members.

Fact No.7

Donald Trump’s first offer for the property was $28 million, but since the markets slumped in 1985, he wanted to end things with the property, by shelling out only $8 million for the house, with the original furniture included.
