Ted Cruz
After Trump lost his reelection in 2020, Texas Senator Ted Cruz started to brand himself as the next far-right leader that would continue the Trump-era values. He became very vocal in overturning the 2020 presidential election results, and even backed the baseless claims that the votes were fraudulent.
Cruz is well known for his sparking controversy, especially after he lost most of his battles in the court of public opinion. However, he seems to carry on, by clinging to the support of his extremist base.
Ron DeSantis
Florida’s governor represents the division that properly encapsulates the state’s political direction. He’s seen as a hero among right-wing conservatives, but also a proud enemy by others. His base is similar to Trump’s, which means that he represents a threat to the former president if he will seek the Republican nomination. Even if he downplayed his intentions to run for president, he’s still seen as a top contender in the 2024 race.
Kamala Harris
The United States vice president is always a favorite when it comes to the presidential pipeline, ever since John Adams succeeded George Washington. There have been numerous VPs who managed to ascend to the Oval Office, and the best example is the commander-in-chief, Joe Biden.
Kamala Harris is a very experienced attorney who climbed the political ranks very fast. So if her boss doesn’t decide to run again, she could be the next to live in the White House.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who’s also known as AOC, doesn’t meet the age requirement for a candidate for president, as the internet-savvy politician will soon turn 35 three months before Inauguration Day in 2025. In 2016, she worked for Sen. Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign as an organizer, and she launched her own campaign in New York City to overturn a 10-term House Democrat. She describes herself as a democratic socialist, which is a labor-oriented movement with surprisingly progressive values.
