Being the President of the United States isn’t an easy ride, even after it’s all finished. You shouldn’t rush into imagining that once the term is over, former presidents pack their bags and run away to have their long and well-deserved Bahamas vacation.
This is far from the truth. While former presidents can return to a so-called normal life, there are certain rules and protocols they still need to keep up with. Some of these rules were established all the way back in 1958, following the passing of the Former Presidents Act.
